ProHQ vs Odoo

Modular open-source ERP with an app per function. ProHQ is a process engine: it runs your whole operation as one process — offline, in the field, in your team's language — and we build and run it with you.

CREDIT WHERE IT'S DUE

What Odoo is genuinely good at.

Truly modular and open

Pick from manufacturing, inventory, accounting, CRM and more; the open-source core allows deep customization and self-hosting.

Studio low-code customization

Odoo Studio adds fields, forms, dashboards and simple automation by drag-and-drop for common cases.

Strong cost-to-capability ratio

Community is free and Enterprise is comparatively affordable — real ERP breadth at a fraction of tier-one licensing.

SIDE BY SIDE

Six things that decide it.

CAPABILITY

ProHQ
Odoo

Built around your process

A state-machine workflow that mirrors how you actually work — not generic boards, lists or tickets you bend to fit.

~

Offline-first, built for the field

Record work where it happens — site, road, shop floor — with no signal. It syncs when the network returns.

One process, everything attached

Tables, documents, files, approvals and chat hang off the exact stage they belong to — not separate apps that never quite talk.

A team that runs it with you

We sit with your people, map the process and keep it running. Not a download-and-configure-it-yourself licence.

Your team's language

Feels like Excel and WhatsApp, in the language the field already speaks. No training period.

~

AI only where it pays

Drafting, summarising and repetitive paperwork automated on the process — included, not a per-seat upsell.

WHERE IT STOPS

The gap ProHQ fills.

Odoo is structured as discrete ERP modules; when your workflow has real branching, approvals-with-exceptions and stage-specific tools, you hit Studio's ceiling and need developers. It also has no offline-first field foundation. ProHQ is a single configurable process with tables, documents, files, approvals and chat attached per stage, working offline.

  • Modules, not your process

Work is organized into fixed app modules; a genuinely custom multi-stage workflow usually needs Python development, not just Studio.

  • Not offline-first

A server-centric web ERP; there is no robust offline-first field experience for a mobile team without connectivity.

  • Implementation-heavy

Real deployments need a partner for migration, custom modules and tuning, with India costs commonly into thousands of dollars.

  • Customization debt risk

Heavy Studio/module customization can complicate upgrades and create a maintenance burden over time.

THE INDIA REALITY

India has a large Odoo partner ecosystem with relatively affordable implementation rates, and GST/Indian localization is available, but a usable rollout still depends on paid partner work rather than included service.

KEEP IT — ADD PROHQ

Keep it, or run ProHQ alongside.

For a business that genuinely needs ERP depth like inventory and manufacturing accounting, Odoo is the stronger fit and ProHQ does not match that. ProHQ wins for field-heavy, process-driven teams that want one workflow they actually run, offline, with a partner team — rather than a module-based ERP implementation.

INTEGRATION

Bring your Odoo data with you

Odoo offers a documented XML-RPC/JSON-RPC API and import/export, so ProHQ imports records and syncs process and table data both ways; Odoo's accounting and inventory ledgers remain authoritative.

Need to keep Odoo in the loop? We build that connector by hand during onboarding — which is why the beta is just twenty seats.

REACHING PARITY

Matching Odoo, on the process engine

Where Odoo leads today, here's what we're building — so it works offline and in the field too:

  • Inventory and stock-movement tracking on a process
  • Configurable multi-step approval chains with exception paths
  • Open import-export and webhook API for record sync

THE VERDICT

Real modular ERP depth, but a module bag with developer dependence, not your one offline process.

We'll tell you honestly whether ProHQ is the right move from Odoo for how you work. That conversation is free.
